How do I get my picture taken down?
A simple, polite e-mail with the following items is all you need to do:
1. E-mail us with the exact location of the picture, meaning the URL that appears when you go to it, such as:
http://hektik.org/example/dc02987.jpg.html
If you send us just the image name such as "dc02987.jpg" we will have to disregard the e-mail. We have been around since 1995, and we have over 40,000 images and over time our camera counters roll over so there is more than one image with the same name and we do not have the time to look through every image and guess which one is you.
2. We need proof that you are the person in the picture. Anyone can say they are anyone and without reasonable proof we cannot assist your request.
Can I use your content?
You can freely use our content under the following conditions:
- You must give us credit.
- Do not edit or modify our content. This includes but is not limited to the removal or modifications of watermarks.
- You cannot charge for our content.
- You must notify us of the usage.
If for any reason you would like to use our content but it does not meet the above requirements then please contact us.
Why is your site blocked from work/school?
We purposely registered our website with all of the major content filter sites. We did this because we believe that we as citizens should police the internet and not some decrepit politician like Orrin Hatch.
Is this content legal? - I thought you needed my permission to use my photo?
When we are at clubs taking pictures or shooting video we are there with permission from the owners and the same goes with private parties. As far as public property such as outdoors or on the city streets, there is no need to seek subject permission/approval. In most cases our cameras are big and it's hard to not know that you are being photographed and we usually ask, if you say no - we will respect your wishes.
Can we hire you guys?
Sure, we are a diverse group with a lot of talent to offer. We are available for photography, video, parties (meaning entertainment), web site design, code, security audits and more.
